Actually, there are so many uses for these awesome oils! I once wondered the same thing. I wasn’t sure where to start. Here are many ideas on how you can begin to incorporate these oils into your daily life or throughout life.
Uses for Lemon essential oil:
Get rid of bad smells. Anytime you are wanting to have a fabulous smelling house/apartment be sure to diffuse Lemon to neutralize odors!
Lemon essential oil is excellent for dealing with anything sticky. Want to remove something sticky like gum try this natural solution before you panic! I have also utilized this for removing permanent marker off of a dry erase board.
Need a pick me up? First, diffuse lemon essential oil to energize your mood. Then, treat yourself by mixing a couple of drops with Tea tree oil/Melaleuca and fractionated coconut oil and put on tired or dry feet.
Adding a bit of Lemon EO while cooking salmon or other meals can be delicious. You can even add it to your tea!
Do you get low on energy throughout the day? You should rub a drop of Lemon on your hands, the back of your neck and through your hair. AHH-mazing!
Lemon EO is amazing for cleaning. You can add this to a DIY cleaning spray, your dishwater, or to clean your glassware. This smells so much better plus has added benefits.
When the kiddos have homework to do after school, diffuse Lemon and Peppermint EOs. This supports focus and motivation to accomplish tasks.
I love to make my own all purpose cleaner. I mix 6 drops of Lemon eo with water and vinegar in a spray bottle to cleanse surfaces throughout the house. In addition, I use this spray to clean stainless steel appliances. For stainless steel, mix Lemon essential oil and olive oil (that’s what I love to do).
Sick of having horrible smelling kitchen washcloths? When your kitchen washcloths smell horrible, then add Lemon eo to your detergent. You can then soak these washcloths overnight, wash, dry and your kitchen will smell wonderful.
Instead of dryer sheets (they are awful for you), try adding a few drops to a damp wash cloth and put it in the dryer with your laundry. Then, set the dryer to a low temperature cycle.
Lavendar is lovely in a bath! Drop about 3 drops of lavender essential oil along with 1 cup of unscented Epsom salts to your bath water for an amazingly relaxing experience.
After a long day, rub Lavender along with Lemongrass on your legs and feet. This is soooo relaxing! Love it.
To promote a restful night’s sleep you can put a couple drops on the bottoms of the feet.
Want to clean your mattress? Sprinkle a mixture of 1 cup baking soda and 5 drops of lavender essential oil on your mattress. Let this mixture sit for approximately one hour then use the vacuum hose to clean it up. You can combine with drops of Eucalyptus, Peppermint, Clove, or Rosemary as well. Excellent way to use several of your oils!
When I have accidentally burnt myself I have applied Lavender eo to the affected area to support soothing skin irritation, support reduced redness, promote less swelling.
You can even use small jar to add oatmeal and add 5 drops of Lavender oil. When it’s time to wash your face, add water and it becomes an excellent natural scrub! A little goes a long way.
Night-time tip: A few drops of Lavender placed on a pillow will help promote a restful night’s sleep.
Homemade Aftershave: Use after shaving to soothe and soften skin and to reduce the redness and burning caused by razor burn (great gift idea for hubby).
One drop of Lavender will help relieve the sensitivity of gums, dry or chapped lips, occasional scrapes and abrasions, or after too much sun. This oil is so supportive.
You can apply Lavender to the temples and back of neck to support reducing anxious feelings and stress and promote mental clarity.
Rub Lavender essential oil onto an itchy tummy while pregnant to support less itchyness (Amazing).
Therapeutic Dish & Laundry Soap. If your liquid soap smells a bit flat, you can add Lavender to make it smell so much better.
Uses for Peppermint EO:
Support healthier breathing by diluting a drop of Peppermint oil combined with Fractionated Coconut Oil and put under your nose to support open airways and help you breathe easily.
You can add Peppermint eo to a cold compress and cool down your feet after a long day.
Keep a spray bottle of water with a few drops of Peppermint eo around to use when you need to cool down.
Use a drop of Peppermint eo with Lemon eo with a bit of water for a healthy and refreshing mouth rinse. It can freshen breath. I also love to add 1 drop of peppermint to my lip gloss. 🙂 Heard great things about this and have loved it.
Put a drop or two of peppermint eo on hands and then inhale deeply to increase alertness.
Apply to neck and forehead with Lavender to relieve tension and pressure.
Peppermint is a great way to cool joints. It helps to soothe occasional muscle and joint discomfort.
You can even rub this eo on your stomach or take it internally for supporting a decrease in occasional digestive discomfort.
You could add a drop of Peppermint eo to your chocolate Trim Shake for a delicious flavor!
You can diffuse Peppermint eo which can support decreasing any urges to snack on junk food. It’s a good way to control appetite.
On long drives Peppermint eo could be your best friend… for staying awake that is.
Prior to exercising, apply a bit of Peppermint eo onto your chest or just take a deep breath straight from the bottle. Then, after you exercise add to shampoo to stimulate your senses.
Peppermint makes a delicious addition to all things chocolate. Add a drop into your brownies. Delicious!!
Uses for Oregano
Take 2 drops in a Veggie Capsule, with olive oil, for immune support.
Put a drop of Oregano essential oil in your spaghetti sauce, pizza sauce, on a roast, or any other foods for great flavor. Oregano is quite strong so put the drop first on a spoon and then use a toothpick to slowly add oil to the food.
Mix 4 drops of Oregano with water in a spray bottle and spray it in corners of the shower, sink and other damp places in your home.
Add a drop of Oregano and a drop of Basil into a veggie dip! You can add them both with olive oil and balsamic vinegar for a wonderful bread dip!

When a change of seasons may have you feeling down, make your own wellness blend by combining 4 drops Oregano, 4 drops Protective Blend, 5 drops Tea Tree Oil and 4 drops Lemon into a Veggie Capsule.
Anyone’s skin can have bumps or feel irritated. Oregano is effective as a topical ointment. Oregano is strong. Use 1-3 drops of Fractionated Coconut Oil with the oregano.
